For the past few months the SPFs have been building a relationship with H&R Block - a major player in the Canada tax services industry. Personally, we plan to use their in person service this year. Our side income/business is getting complicated and being a new father I don’t have the time to learn all of the rules in preparing taxes for a business in addition to the tax returns I file for Mrs. SPF and I.
H&R Block also offers an online tax return offering as well! This is our traditional way of completing and submitting our taxes. Their system is secure and offers handy electronic NETFILE functionality al the while walking you through a comprehensive interview process that figures out which information you need to submit dependent on your financial situation. They have graciously offered to give our Canadian readers SIX free access codes to use their online system (value $15.95). H&R Block also offered to give us physical copies of the software but we have opted to “be green” and save the packaging, materials, shipping materials and fuel consumption sending the products to winners by offering up the online service.
If you win you will have to answer a skill testing question and please pay attention to each of the submission methods – read the instructions please! And you MUST BE CANADIAN.
Before we get to the entry form I want to let our readers (recent and long timers) know that starting next week we plan to re-publish some of our older articles. We are really proud of some our earlier (and buried!) articles and we want to share them with folks once again – in case you missed them, or, for you to re-read! We are really proud of the community here @ SPF – all of you. So we are proud to give you some free tax software and some of our earlier articles of which we are most proud!
Contest starts @ 12:01 AM EST February 5th, 2012 and ends 12:01 EST February 12th, 2012.

Yay to re-publishing articles! I missed a lot last year. I am eager to catch up.
I would like to win because I hate having to pay to file taxes online.
I want to win because I have so many weird tax forms this year that I need help with!
H&R Block hey?! Maybe I should do that too. My blogging stuff seems complicated too.
Looking forward to some re-reads. You have always had great stuff.
I’m with you on the republishing articles. I’ve been thinking of doing that for over a year but haven’t started doing it yet :)
I’m a firm believer that some of a blog’s best articles are those least read ones published earlier on. I think it’s a good thing to do and readers should be able to easily skip over them if they have read them before.
