It is raining cats and dogs here today and it will likely continue to do so throughout tomorrow. Weather like this makes me particularly happy that we splurged and bought quality umbrellas. I can’t tell you how many dinky, cheap umbrellas I have had fall apart on, blow inside out, tear easily etc. So much money and materials wasted. These new umbrellas are well designed (so its nearly impossible for them to flip inside out and the material is much thicker so tears don’t happen) but they are also huge which means you really don’t get wet! They cost us each $20 and (knock on wood) we won’t have to replace them for a long, long time.

Well said. I have a couple of quality golf umbrellas and I tell you, I haven’t needed to replace those guys in almost 10 years.

Creative topic! An umbrella is one of those things you don’t think about much if you live in Colorado until you need it – and then you do need a quality one. I’ll never forget being in New York City once during a bad storm and everyone’s cheap umbrellas were turning inside out.
