Green Tip #120: Use the Sun to Light Your Garden

Last weekend was the first time this year, and the first time for us in this house that we sat outside in the backyard. We had a good friend visiting and the sun was warm and the air smelled of fresh grass and flowers. Lovely! We plan on doing more of this and also spending more time out there in the evenings. In order to make sure we don’t stumble on a dog toy or step in a dog turd, we have solar lights throughout the garden that guide our way. You can usually find these little lanterns on sale at most stores this time of year. They are inexpensive and require no energy!

  1. I’ve been meaning to get some of these solar powered garden lights. The prices vary quite a bit, I find. I wouldn’t want to spend too much money on something that might get stolen though.
