Sustainable PF and I just recently purchased new glasses. In the past we have gone to the big box retail glasses store and gotten a two for one deal. However since purchasing our last sets of glasses a new shop has opened in town that sells green eyewear. There are levels to how green they are. Some of their green eyewear is made from 100% recycled materials like pop bottles or car tires or wood waste. Others are not quite as green in the materials that they are made of but they are designed and made locally so fewer emissions to get them to the shop. Finally they do carry some glasses that arent green in any way but for any pair of those that you buy the shop donates a small amount of money to a local ENGO that does good work in our community. Sustainable PF was very skeptical that we would be able to afford these green eyewear glasses but I went and checked it out and as it turns out the store offered us a really great discount because we were buying four pars of glases from them. I’ve never felt better about wearing glasses!
SPF: and our benefits, now combined, covered the bill – barely.

It’s good to know that there are green eyewear being sold in the market now.
I wear contact lens most of the time and I usually buy my back-up glasses at Costco. I had my back-up glasses for like 3 years now since my prescription has not changed.
