I love fairs, always have and always will. I visited one in a little town about 30 minutes from here today and it was a lot of fun. My friend and I spent a few hours there, doing a ride, playing games and having funnel cake. I grew up in a place with a humongous theme park and while it was a lot of fun to go to, it also cost about $36/visit. It was always a fun day but it was also long lines and overpriced games and food. A fair is always cheaper ($6 admission today) and the lines are nowhere near as long. Now of course you don’t get the same rides but especially when you have little kids (or kids at heart like me) you don’t need them. You an support a local fair and all the people hired to work at it, save some money and also be green as your local fair will likely be a much shorter drive than the closest amusement park.
