Green Tip #62: Use Cast Iron Cook Ware

cast iron skilletNo, this is not a golf tip – we’re still in the kitchen.  For Christmas I gave Mrs. SPF a cast iron frying pan which she has wanted for some time.  Cast iron pans last decades if cared for properly – you won’t need to replace it if you treat it right.  The cast iron pan can be “seasoned” with oil to make a non-stick surface.  The cast iron skillet heats evenly and can be placed in the oven too.  After you rediscover the joy of cooking with cast iron cookware you’ll wonder why you ever switched to any other product material.
