So I’m on a bit of a freezer theme now! Have you ever cooked too many pasta noodles? Well I have. I overestimate how many I need for a dish and usually have a cup or more of cooked noodles, with no use in the present. So I recently learned from my mum that you can freeze these noodles and simply put them in boiling water for a minute or two ( the time for them to separate from one another and warm up) and then they are ready for any sauce, veg, meat you want to add to them.

You can also freeze rice the same way. We have often reheated it and added it to a dish when we are on the go.
Rice too, good to know, thanks Miss T!
I never knew you could do this with noodles – I’ll have to give it a try sometime. I do know you can do it with beans though.
Good to know it works for beans too Jeff, thanks!
I too have frozen both beans and rice with great results. Do the noodles get squishier after they are reheated?
They do get slightly squishier Melissa, but really not enough to no longer make them enjoyable
It’s only me and my wife (no kids yet) and my wife loves to cook. When she cooks, sometimes the servings are for more than two people so what she does is she freezes them and we can eat them at a later time.
